A gas/electric-hybrid model with Toyota’s industry-leading Hybrid Synergy Drive makes its debut in the model lineup. The Camry range includes the class-leading CE model, the LE, the sport-tuned SE and the luxury XLE. For 2007, the Camry’s’ wheelbase grows by 2.2 inches and the height decreases by 1-inch.

A 158-hp 4-cyl engine, coupled with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic, powers all Camry models. The LE, SE and XLE also offer higher 268 horsepower V6 versions that use a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Camry Hybrid gets a 187 hp, 4-cyl gas engine with a battery-powered electric motor and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Mileage estimates are 24/34 mpg (city/highway) on the manual and 24/33 mpg on the automatic. The hybrid version features outstanding EPA- estimated mileage ratings of 40/38 mpg (city/highway), setting a new standard for fuel efficiency.
