(2010-08-31) What Makes a Top Employer Student Video Contest Begins Today
Are you a Canadian student between 18-28? We want to hear what you think makes a Top
We are excited to announce that today marks the launch of ‘What Makes a Top Employer’ – a national student video contest! As the sponsor of the 2010 Canada’s Top Employers for Young People (TEFYP) award, KPMG is aiming to provide the TEFYP award winning companies with direct insight in what future employees look for in a top employer.
The innovative initiative will get underway with a viral ‘call to action’ bilingual video campaign, asking Canadian students enrolled in full or part-time college or university programs to share their thoughts on what makes a Top Employer, by uploading 1-4 minute videos to the contest’s website, which can be found at www.whatmakesatopemployer.ca. At the end of the competition, several video submissions will be edited together culminating in a final video, which will be presented at the Top Employer summit in November 2010.
In appreciation of devoting their time and effort, KPMG will present two prizes to students, according to two different sets of criteria. The first and second prize are the following:
• First prize goes to the student with the best video response – the most insightful, thoughtful, and useful video. It will be determined by a panel of five top executives from the winning companies of the 2010 TEFYP award this coming fall. This student will receive an Apple iPad plus the opportunity to meet with the five top executives for an hour of one-on-one mentoring each.
• Second prize, an Apple iPad, will go to the student whose video wins by popular vote by way of on-line voting on the contest website.
As the contest facilitator, we are committed to improving the workplace in Canada for the next generation of employees in Canada. Be sure to check out the ‘What Makes a Top Employer’ call-to-action video out at www.whatmakesatopemployer.ca today.
