(2007-02-17) Craiglist Foundation welcomes users to create their own custom craigslist T-shirts

New Flash Creator lets shoppers create fun, unique t-shirts like “As seen in Missed Connections” appearing under their uploaded photo or design

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February12, 2007) – Craigslist Foundation (www.craigslistfoundation.org), the non-profit arm of the online classifieds sensation craigslist.org, has added GoodStorm’s new T-shirt Wizard to their online t-shirt store. The custom T-shirt Wizard enables visitors to create and buy their own, unique craigslist t-shirts. The Foundation teamed up with GoodStorm (www.GoodStorm.com), the progressive ecommerce provider, in 2006 and uses their online, print-on-demand apparel service as a way to supplement their revenue stream. Like the t-shirt store launched last year, revenue from the sale of custom T-shirts will help provide free and low cost education opportunities to emerging nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs.

The Craiglist Foundation store (http://www.craigslistfoundation.org/store) is the exclusive provider of official craigslist-branded apparel, and features T-shirts for women, men and children displaying craigslist and Craigslist Foundation themes. These include the craigslist name along with categories from craigslist , such as “Strictly Platonic”, Rants and Raves”,” Women Seeking Women”, “Seeking Men”, and “Casual Encounters.” There are also a categories dedicated to unique craigslist experiences like their “I Found my ____ on craiglist.org” line, which highlight a variety of some of the most popular items users can find in the free online classifieds website. Since the custom T-shirt Wizard was launched, some of the most popular t-shirt creations include “Post about me in Missed Connections: craigslist.org”, and “As seen in Casual Encounters: craigslist.org”.

Yobie Benjamin, GoodStorm founder and CEO, said, “Craigslist Foundation’s store has proven to be one of our most popular shopping destinations. We’re happy to include this new Wizard and give craigslist fans the opportunity to put their creative best into the craigslist shirts they want to wear. And, because we give 100% of the profit per shirt to the Craigslist Foundation, shoppers can feel good that their purchases are being used to benefit the non-profit organizations and social entrepreneurs Craigslist Foundation is working to empower.”
