New applicants to ResearchPaperz.net will be given an assignment to write a creative piece from now on. This will, we hope, help us recruit a flexible and skilled writing corps.
If you wanted to die when your instructor assigned creative writing, we’re very sorry. However, this is exactly what we are doing here at ResearchPaperz.net.
Each applicant will be asked to create a story, sketch, vignette, or poem on a topic selected by ResearchPaperz.net. Alternatively, the applicant chooses the topic and ResearchPaperz.net selects the format. The purpose of this exercise is to find those writers who are facile at switching from genre to genre. ResearchPaperz.net is looking for professionals who can handle a range of topics!
This is a new initiative for ResearchPaperz.net. In the past, applicants were assigned an expository essay. However, this does not reveal the full scope of a writer’s vocabulary.
Can this person manage a variety of sentence types? Do they use words powerfully and subtly?
For those who are fearful of such an assignment, we might suggest trying out one of the several Haiku forms. This Japanese poetry uses an alternating number of syllables to craft very short poems. Although small in length, these poems pack a wallop.
While most traditional Haiku treat a subject from nature (e.g., cherry blossoms or rain on a lake), there is always a subtext. Perhaps new life, or change, or loss; a message is somehow suggested subtly. We are looking for writers who can build a subtle, evocative, and multi-layered poem, even at under two dozen words long.
