National Advocates for Military Families is promoting two charity events to help raise funds for military families across the nation and particularly in Utah.
The nonprofit organization was founded in June by a Utah Army National Guard soldier, Bryce Anderson, with a goal of protecting and providing peace of mind for the families of deployed soldiers and creating awareness of the sacrifices the families have to make.
Thousands of military families across the nation are left behind as their loved ones leave for deployments. These families are left with many challenges and worries.
NAMF is dedicated to helping these military families receive peace of mind by providing protection without the cost involved.
â??Military families with deployed spouses are left without any compensation for security or protection,â?? Anderson said. â??Home security systems help families obtain peace of mind, and it is our goal to protect these families without them paying for it.â??
According to Pentagon data, since September 11, 2001, well over 1 million soldiers nationwide have been deployed. Approximately 63 percent of the U.S. Army have gone to war at least once, and close to 90 percent of U.S. Marines have fought. (Found at: http://www.globalsecurity.org )
These staggering numbers underline the necessity and obligation to help secure the loved ones of the valiant men and women serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
A local Lehi company, LowVARates.com, is sponsoring a Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds for NAMF. The tournament will take place on September 14th at Valley View golf course in Layton, Utah. The cost is $200 per team and includes breakfast, lunch and prizes.
Later in the month, NAMF will host a comedy to show on September 24rd at Trolley Square to help raise money and crown â??Utahâ??s Funniest Clean Comedian.â?? The comedians will battle to take home the Utah â??King of humorâ?? honor. The ticket price is $50 per person which includes: dinner, comedy show and raffle prizes.
Many Utah businesses have already showed their support by sponsoring the charity events. All of the proceeds will go directly to the protection of the families of deployed soldiers.
Utah business support will play a huge role in the failure or success of NAMF.
â??We need Utah businesses to support our cause or our organization canâ??t make it,â?? Anderson said.
Sponsor of the charity golf tournament and owner of LowVARates.com, Eric Kandell, hopes the golf tournament will raise awareness for the nonprofit organization.
â??Life can be very difficult for families with a deployed spouse,â?? Kandell said. â??Military families across the nation are forced to live without their spouses, making home security a major issue.â??
You can support NAMFâ??s cause by participating in the charity events. Utah businesses can help protect the families that protect us.
About Us: We are a nonprofit organization started in June 2009 by soldiers for soldiers. Our mission is to advocate for military families nationwide who are left behind with no sense of security and problems with peace of mind while their loved one is away. Our goal is to educate Americans not only about the sacrifices these soldiers make, but also the sacrifices their families make as well. No military family should have to pay for peace of mind while their loved one is away at war. We intend to raise enough funds to take care of the costs for these families.
The alarm industry typically uses dealers and salesman. The dealers/salesman can make their money on equipment, installation, activation, monitoring and agreements. Our goal is to skip the dealer process for these families. They should not be negotiating prices and worrying about being taken advantage of. NAMF advocates to the alarm companies for these families to get everything paid for upfront. Once they are installed they apply for reimbursement through our site. If the soldiers already have an alarm they also can start getting reimbursed. We want to be able to completely pay for the costs incurred by these families. It is crucial that we are constantly fundraising and providing awareness to be able to do this.
