The Brian K. McWilliams Foundation announced this week that it would be joining forces with consulting firm CEO, Helen K. Cosburn, of ACCESS Global Healthcare, to address their top two tenents - Health and Wellness - on a more global scale.
The Canadian Foundation, which aims to promote health, wellness, sport and education, welcomes Cosburn's global perspective as they together aim to promote access to healthcare regardless of financial, social or geographic barriers.
"Each system has its strengths and its challenges for providing care to patients - both local and medical tourists. At the end of the day, it's about everyone having access to the healthcare they need regardless of financial, social or geographic barriers" reported Helen Cosburn, CEO of ACCESS Global Healthcare. “By partnering with The Brian K. McWilliams Foundation, if we can help make that possible for even one person, it is worth the commitment" the medical tourism expert continued when asked about the recent association with the Foundation.” The mission of the Foundation 'Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something' is a true inspiration to us all and really motivated us to get involved and give back."
Cosburn is no stranger to volunteer work; giving back to the community and volunteering go back many generations in the Cosburn family. In fact, she recently received a Life Time Achievement Award for 15 years of volunteering.
“We are excited to have ACCESS join our efforts. Helen’s experience in the international healthcare sector will be a tremendous asset to help the Foundation identify and support those in need of access to healthcare. Whether the need is from an individual or an entire country, the Foundation will make a difference”, Foundation Chairman, Brian McWilliams reported.
Both organizations are excited about their upcoming fundraising event in September, but were tight lipped about the details, sighting a big upcoming announcement. For now, we will have to wait and see what the two organizations do together to make a difference.
